Sanibel Edible and Native Garden

Client Goals:

  • Native shrubs and wildflowers, fruit trees and edible plants

  • Color, beauty, and variety

  • Pathway and fire pit area to enjoy the landscape

  • Raised bed gardens for fresh cut flowers

Before the Transformation:

The landscape was damaged from Hurricane Ian. Most plants had been removed.

Before the Transformation

After the Transformation

Design elements:

Key features of the design are: A shell path from the front entry through the landscape leading to a sitting area/fire pit in the backyard, and linking back to raised bed gardens along the rear of the home. Coastal native trees, shrubs and ground covers throughout the landscape, interspersed with fruit trees. Composite edging to maintain clean lines between the path and mulch areas. Low volume irrigation for efficient watering of all landscape plants and gardens.

  • Client Comments...

“Tim, Eric and the whole Ecovision crew are top notch. They have helped me immensely with installation, irrigation and soil maintenance of my raised garden beds for my flower business. In addition, Tim and Eric have consulted with my husband and I in choosing and installing salt tolerant native plants and fruiting trees on our island property. I highly recommend the Ecovision team!”
